As an Etsy shop owner, there are times when a hobby feels more like a business. In reality, it is a business, but I still think of it as a hobby because I love doing it and it doesn't feel like work. Designing jewelry has been a passion of mine since I was 16 years old in high school. Back then, I was either creating custom jewelry for boutiques and brides, or I used my prom and events that required new outfits as an excuse to make matching jewelry to go along with it. Carrying on that trend lead to a very full jewelry box. I figured there's got to be a way to keep designing, but with a purpose, and not just a purpose to add to my own personal collection, so a few years later my Etsy shop was born.
Etsy shop owners and jewelry designers are usually always available. Since the store isn't a physical location with set business hours, you can have customers shopping your products at any hour of the day. A typical day in the life of an Etsy shop owner involves responding to emails, brainstorming new designs, creating new products to add to the shop, photographing said products, editing those photos to make them ready to go live, posting them online for sale, engaging with customers via social media outlets, promoting products on social media, updating shop inventory, managing and shipping orders, responding to more emails, and so on. Some days require more time than I have, and without the proper tools, it can be overwhelming.
The Lenovo YOGA Tablet 2 Pro, designed by Ashton Kutcher, is the perfect tool to complete such tasks. It has the power of a desktop computer and the size and portability of a tablet. It's great for at home use without taking up much space.
I am limited on space in my home office and craft room. When it is time to design jewelry, once all of my components and tools are out, there is not much room left on my desk. When I am filling orders, having my tablet next to me is a must to make sure I am putting together what the customer requested, as well as preparing to ship it to the right person. A portable tablet on my desk works best for me since it takes up minimal space in comparison to a large desktop computer. My favorite feature on the Lenovo YOGA Tablet 2 Pro is the built in Pico projector. When I really need the extra space, I can just place the tablet next to my desk, turn on the projector, and view everything I need in full screen mode on my wall.
With 15 hours of battery life, I never have to worry about losing connection with my business and customers. It is lightweight and easy to carry which allows me to take care of business wherever I'm at in my home.
There is a built in kickstand on the back of the Lenovo YOGA Tablet 2 Pro which allows you to utilize the flip-and-fold design to view at any desired angle. It's 13.3" wide-view display is great for at home use, but it can also fit comfortably in my bag if I need to take it with me. A larger screen makes it easier for editing photos and creating listings with a big viewing space.
Being able to complete all tasks as an Etsy shop owner and jewelry designer makes my day go much more smoothly. I'm able to knock out everything in one sitting, without being distracted from connecting other devices to do so. Multitasking is key when running an online shop, but the more you get out of your device, the easier it is to do so. Unwinding at the end of a long day with a big screen movie projector isn't so bad either!
I'm a tech junkie and love seeing all the details when I find a cool new device, so if you're anything like me, you can learn more here. Also be sure to check out the Trend Hub for giveaways and to see how others are using the YOGA Tablet too!
