2015 Dress Trends

This post is sponsored by David's Bridal, but all opinions are my own.

One of my favorite things about award ceremonies is watching the red carpet to see all of the latest dress trends.  Every year, there are notable trends that make me wish I still had a reason to buy a pretty, trendy dress and get all glammed up.  In high school, I had prom, and in college I had sorority formal.  I'll never forget the events leading up to prom as a high school student. Prom was one of the most important things going on in my life at the time.  The night had to be perfect, from the fancy limo that would take us, to the dinner reservations, hair style, make up application, jewelry, shoes, corsage, and of course, the dress.  Dress shopping was a huge deal.

Now, girls have it easy.  They can shop for prom dresses online and browse a huge selection of dresses from the David's Prom Collection at David's Bridal.  Plus, they can try on their favorite at one of the 300 stores nationwide.  They offer styles from as low as $99 with sizes ranging from 2-24W.  I considered attending a Mardi Gras ball this year, which is a formal event (an excuse to wear a pretty dress!), so I browsed their selection of dresses in hopes of finding something I liked.  If you're on the hunt for the perfect prom dress, or even sorority formal or Mardi Gras ball, I'd say David's Bridal is the place to look!  I mean, just look at a few of the dresses I found!

While browsing the David's Prom collection, I spotted tons of trends for the year.  From the colors, to the detail and cut, everything is swoon worthy.

Here are the 2015 dress trends:

Sleek cuts: this gives a long and slimming effect.

Sheer illusion: show some skin in a classy, but flirty way.

Statement lines: decorative necklines and backlines add a subtle focal point to the dress.

Embellishments: from sequins to beading, you'll be sure to stand out with a little extra on your dress.

Classic black: timeless and not to mention, black gives an instant thinning effect.

Shades of blue: powder blue is on trend this year, along with classics like navy and royal blue.

White: the perfect color that can be worn year round.  You'll be sure to look stunning in a haute white dress.

Bare essentials: you can never go wrong with neutrals like cream, blush or champagne, since they compliment most skin tones.

My personal favorite dress trend is embellishments.  My favorite dress is the ivory and gold embellished stunner.  If this is your 2015 prom dress or sorority formal dress, I'm totally jealous.

What is your favorite dress trend for 2015?
