Movie Night at Home

Wanna know a secret?  I'm not a huge fan of watching movies.  Okay maybe that's a bit exaggerated, because if you put a good comedy on, I'm sold.  Adam Sandler?  I'll quote the whole thing.  But back to my point, I'm really not the sit down and watch a movie type.  I'd much rather be out doing something, but that's just me.

However, with all movie watching comes the snacking, and if you've been around this blog more than a time or two, you know I'm a fan of food.  I like to snack and I'm not ashamed!  I blame that on my southern Louisiana girl roots.  Chris on the other hand loves movies.  It makes sense though, because we're pretty much opposites when it comes to just about anything.  I guess the saying opposites attract really is true after all.  So each week, I'm begged to sit down and watch a movie with him.  About every third time, I say yes.  It's an excuse to make a late night trip to the store and clear out the chip and candy aisle.  Can you blame me?

This week with all the rainy cold days we'd been having, we decided to have a movie night.  A trip to the store was on the agenda to pick out what we wanted for snacks.  Of course, I grabbed the obvious: wine, sunflower seeds, Sour Patch Kids, and some Reese's.  Chris went for his go-to snack, popcorn, and then I realized I didn't have any chips and that just wasn't fair.  I've never been a big fan of popcorn, figured I'd already done enough damage and put down the Dorito's, and decided to try something new for a change- popchips.

When we got home, the eating frenzy began and Chris successfully got me to sit down and watch a movie with him!  I'd say it was a win win situation.

I was quite impressed with the popchips I tried.  I decided to get the sea salt flavor and they tasted so good I could've eaten the whole bag.  They had a delicate, airy taste to them without the greasy feeling like most chips.  Even better, they're now packaged 15% larger so there's even more to love.   I'll definitely be putting them on my shopping list for now on.

I've mentioned how I've been into snacking healthier with bikini season coming up, so I'll gladly give up the fried potato chips for popchips with half the fat!  Sure, I could just cut the junk all together, but that just sounds like a recipe for a disaster and I already know that wouldn't end well!

Needless to say, I think I could get used to this whole movie night thing.
