All in favor of a margarita, raise your hand! All in favor of a strawberry beer, raise your hand! For those of you that raised your hands both times, you're in luck, cuz I've got y'all covered with a strawbeerita recipe! It's quick, easy, tasty, and made with Jose Cuervo100% agave tequila, so what more could you need!?
It all started back in my LSU days when I had my first sip of a beerita with a twist- a beerita made with my all time favorite beer, Abita Strawberry. I may be biased since it's brewed in my home state of Louisiana, but I'm sure many would agree it's a pretty legit seasonal beer. Since I'm far from home and the beer is in season, I decided to take matters into my own hands and make my own.
Friends, meet the strawbeerita.
For my recipe, I used Jose Cuervo Tradicional silver tequila paired with the Jose Cuervo original margarita mix and Abita Strawberry beer. I chose to be a little different and rim my glass with sugar instead of salt, but either will do.
1.5 oz Jose Cuervo Tradicional silver tequila
4.5 oz Jose Cuervvo margarita mix
6 oz Abita Strawberry beer
2 cups ice
sugar or salt
Add all ingredients into the blender,
blend, pour into a glass, sip, enjoy,
and try not to have a 1 tequila, 2 tequila, 3 tequila floor scene.
Not only is this 100% agave tequila, it's quite the history in a bottle too. Did you know Jose Cuervo, created in 1795, invented the margarita and was the first tequila brand to harvest rich agave? How's that for a quick history lesson!?
