Procrastination: we're all guilty of it. Some of us are just better at it than others. I say that like it's a good thing or something, but for me, it's not. There is so much on my to-do list that somehow keeps making it onto the next list and never seems to get scratched off. It's easy to make excuses, like for example, when I tell myself in January (new year, new start) I'll finally learn how to use that DSLR camera of mine, but then come up with the excuse that it's too cold out and I need natural light to learn, so I must wait until spring. Well, spring is here and the camera is still in the closet. It's a never ending cycle y'all! I'm sure many of you can relate. If not, then we can't be friends because you have your life together and I'm jealous. Kidding. Kind of.
So today I thought it would be a good idea to share my procrastination with the world in hopes of scratching a few things on my list because for some reason putting it all out there in blogland holds you accountable. Here's to trying and hoping this works.
-Learning how to use my DSLR camera. Chris gave it to me two Christmases ago and my skill level is about the same as day one when I opened the box. Dear self, it's warm out, so what's your excuse now?
-Folding clothes. Wanna know a secret? Buy two laundry hampers, one for clean clothes and one for dirty clothes. When you're too lazy to fold the clean clothes that just came out the dryer, throw them in the clean hamper, you know... for later.
-Working out. I'm too tired today, so I'll start tomorrow. Tomorrow comes and you're not tired, but you don't want to work out because you'll be too tired after and you have plans that night. You'll start tomorrow.
-Rebranding my
Etsy shop. One of the reasons Chris bought me the camera was so I could take new photos for the shop, but hey, if you don't know how to work the thing then you won't be taking any pictures. Epic fail on that part! I've also been wanting to bring some new jewelry in; pieces that reflect more of my style. I've been beading and making jewelry since I was 16 and I truly enjoy it. It's time to get back to it.
-Fixing my blog. A while back, this blog got a facelift, created by yours truly. Once it was pretty much done, I got lazy. See my button on the sidebar? The font doesn't match my header for all you non-ocd people. I'll fix it.......one day.
-Decorating the master bedroom. This has been a project in the works for far too long. Maybe it'll finally be complete this time around when I move to Dallas?
-Hanging up pictures. Chris and I
moved out of our old downtown apartment almost a year ago. We have yet to hang up a single picture in the new place. Now we're moving
again in less than two months, so it's okay to wait until then, right? Right!?
-Backing up my MacBook. You'd think I learned my lesson after this
crisis, but no. I'm still closing that little reminder box that pops up everyday that tells me it's been 170 days and counting since my last backup.
-Writing blog posts. Every time I think of a good topic, I save it in my notes app. Somehow I never get around to writing them because I never feel like it's good enough yet, like I don't have enough thoughts to hit yet to fully get my point across.
The list really could go on, but I'll just save it for a later time ;)
