I'm sure you're all aware by now that Apple released the new iOS 7 update yesterday. If you are an iPhone user, you most likely have already downloaded it, and if you're anything like me, you excessively clicked that install button repeatedly until it worked. Three hours later, a miracle happened and you basically received a new phone. Bam! Easy peasy.
Today I would like to share with you my thoughts on the new update. I have very mixed feelings about it. Some parts of the update are pretty cool, but others are quite disappointing.
Let's start with the pros first:
Folders: I like how when you make a folder now, you can swipe between different pages. No more 12 icons to a folder limit!
Safari: I am loving the new tab viewer for all the open web pages! I'm also a fan of the bookmark icons that appear below the search engine box.
New camera: The square option is genius. I would imagine this working great for Instagram photos!
Photo albums: You can now search through your photos by date and location. This is going to be very helpful when searching through my 1,200+ photos for blogging!
And now the cons:
Alarm clock: I dislike the new alarm look. It has a very busy, cluttered feel to it. As if waking up in the morning isn't bad enough, right?!
Messages: I also think the new message layout has a cluttered look as well. It just doesn't seem as organized looking as before.
Notepad: Where did the lines go!? Once again, cluttered and unorganized looking. Come on, Apple!
Calendar: The new look is too plain for my liking. It was way more organized the old way. Bring it back!
Homescreen: I have mixed feelings about this one. I like how bright it is, but the text under the apps is too dull and hard to read.
So what do you think of the new update? Love it? Hate it? A little in between? Do tell!
