Weekend Shenanigans: Boats, Beers, Babes, Baseball, and Benjamins

Is it really Monday already?  Please say it isn't so.  Remember how I wished the weekend would feel like a month?  Well unfortunately that didn't happen, so Happy Monday Y'all.  It's baacck!  This weekend was definitely a fun one though!  Can't complain about the beach, booze, good food, and live music!

FRIDAY
Friday night started off with some mexican food and my all time favorite queso dip!!  It took a while to finally find a good mexican restaurant up here that served white queso but I finally did!  Mexican food out here is nowhere near as good as it is in the south, but it definitely doesn't disappoint.

After dinner, Chris & I went to the casino for a free concert to see Candle Box.  Anyone remember them?  Not gonna lie, I totally used to rock out to them in high school.  Those were the good days!

After the show we stopped to get some Krispy Kreme doughnuts.  Y'all I swear those were THE BEST doughnuts I've ever had.  They were hot & fresh right out the oven, I may have ordered a dozen.

Oh and I almost forgot...  During the concert, I decided to make a quick run to the bathroom (I almost didn't go because I was afraid I was going to miss the band play one of the only songs I knew) but thankfully I did because as I was walking back from the bathroom I FOUND that $100 bill ON THE GROUND!  SAY WHAAT!?  I NEVER have good luck... EVER!! I may have found a 20 dollar bill before but never ONE.HUNDRED.DOLLARS!  I seriously felt like I won the lottery that night!

SATURDAY

Saturday we decided to take a road trip to Old Lyme, CT to spend the day at the beach.  It was time for me to bust out that bikini and get my tan on! Top is L*Space and bottoms are Trina Turk.

Sidenote - apparently you can't drink ON the beach.  It has to be in the bar.  Umm excuse me?  I've never heard of such a thing.  I guess all you girls that aren't from the south are used to that, but not us!  You see, in the south you can bring an entire ice chest filled with all the beer, wine, and vodka you can imagine...and maybe even your beer pong table.. and not have a cop look twice at you.  But out here, there were signs everywhere stating no alcohol and cops galore.  I'm used to just sitting in the sand or going in the water with my drinks but that's no possible here.  And the water is freezing cold anyway.  Reason number 1,000 why I need the south ha!  But anyway, we found a nice bar right on the beach and spent our evening there so it was still a perfect day aside from all the crazy rules!

Oh and check out that lovely lady on the bottom right.  WHO DOES THAT!?  On a public beach...seriously!!?  I've officially seen it all.

SUNDAY
Sunday was started off with a little retail therapy!  Do you see those black & white ikat shorts?  They were only $10!  And the white & chartreuse ones.. $12!!  I'm always down for a good sale.  I'll have more about the clothes coming later this week for you.

The rest of the day was spent cheering on the LSU Tigers.  I'm such a baseball bandwagon fan, I'll admit that.  Football is my thing, but when it's LSU, it never disappoints!  And how funny is that e card from one of my bffs?  She totally gets me.

Well this weekend was definitely a fun one for the books and I'm already counting down the days til the next one.  Luckily for me it will be a short week this week since I am leaving for NYC on Thursday!!  I'll be spending the weekend with the bff, boyfriend, and some live music!

Have a good week everyone!
